Agony and Irony is Alkaline Trio's upcoming sixth studio album, which is due to be released July 1, 2008 on Epic Records.
The first single from the album, "Help Me" was released to radio stations on April 28, 2008. The song "In Vein", was streamed from the band's MySpace site for 24 hours.
On April 22, 2008, The Agony and Irony EP was released containing the tracks "Help Me, "In Vein" and "Into The Night". The album's title was taken from a line from the song Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger.
Sheet music for "Love Love Kiss Kiss" is currently available from the official website, however the song has not yet been released. Fans are encouraged to participate in a contest ("Settle The Score") to send in footage of themselves playing their interpretation of the song, showing the style in which they think it should be played. The band will then decide which performance is best. Prizes for winning include a feature on the band website, tour tickets, VIP passes and an opportunity to play "Love Love Kiss Kiss" with the band in a jam session. Footage of the jam session will be featured on the website.
